Sky Spheres


Added a custom Sky Sphere to the level. This is allowing me to edit the sky dynamically and create some nice sky effects. The next step is introducing a Cloud Sphere that will enable me to mess with cloud effects over the sky gradients. happy with the way things are going so far though.

  1. Ooh, so it's not just a skybox (texture)? You can edit the colors on the fly and transition between them? How's that work?

  2. Right now its not dynamic. I'm looking into creating a Hue Shader for the texture on the sphere, that would allow me to work with the gradient on it and change the sky color on the fly. Vertex colors are another option. But right now I have several different gradients I can switch through.

  3. Either that or I'm gonna smoke and mirrors the texture change somehow. All things to think about for the future.

  4. Gort it gort it; yeah lemme know whatever solution you come up with, we've been talking dynamic skyboxes for a while and haven't really ventured in yet. But yeah, custom shader should do the trick. Good luck!
